Handbags get a Bling Makeover From Ms. BB
Daahling, your handbag is like your best friend ~ it will never tell where the two of you have been! Bling, much like your best friend, will make all of your handbags special and brighten up your life at the same time.
Daytime handbags might be the ones you are most reluctant to display with bling, depending on where you work. Remember that times are changing and many business workplaces allow you to freely express your individual fashion taste. Even if you work in a suited environment, you can subtly add a bling garnish to the most sophisticated bag or briefcase. A vintage cameo broach applied somewhere on the strap or bottom corner adds an air of elegance and class. A small earring gem dangling from the zipper is always acceptable and nice eye candy to cheer you up while you work. Additionally, you can creatively sparkle with bling on the inside of your bag while keeping the outside appropriate for your business day. A jeweled wallet, make-up case, or pill box will dazzle your spirits each time you open your bag, and remind you that evening fun will soon begin.
Handbag totes are a stylish way to carry essential extras that tend to bulge your standard bag. They can be casual, business, or fun, and you can find them in a wide variety of patterns and materials from straw to leather. Totes with a smooth surface can be decorated with adhesive backed crystals and hearts by simply peeling off the back and sticking them on the bag. Try cutting a sheet of rhinestones into your initial, or if you are the artistic type, you will have lots of fun designing an original work of bling art! For surfaces that are not smooth, jeweled clip-on earrings can be simply clipped onto the straps, and brightly colored pierced earrings can be attached to the zipper pull and left dangling.
Evening Bags are great fun to shop for and will accentuate your outfit with a wide variety of styles. A small clutch is always chic if you do not need to carry much. These can be found in smooth leather, reptile skin, canvas, or even transparent plastic. A light weight chain handle that tucks inside makes it easy to convert to a shoulder bag, leaving both hands free to handle all important things that comes your way ~ like wine or hugs! If you need to carry a bit more than lipstick, look for a bag with several compartments that will allow you to tuck in your cell phone and other essentials you simply cannot leave home without.
Evening bags can be found with just a touch of bling or totally covered in glitter, beads, jewels, or embroidered flowers and initials ~ or with all of the above! If the bag you love does not already come adorned for evening, simply add your own bling! Jeweled pins and earrings make it simple and quick to dress any bag for evening to coordinate with your latest outfit. Take good care of your handbags and they will last a lifetime, Daahling ~ just like your best friend!

There are many web sites out there claiming to sell authentic designer handbags. Unfortunately, many of these web sites, although claiming to sell authentic handbags, are in reality selling fakes. Here are some simple tips that can help you figure out whether a web site is selling authentic goods.
1. Guarantee: A web site selling authentic hand bags will always have a guarantee: Authentic or money back. If this policy is not listed on the web site, contact the web site operators to find out if they offer such a guarantee. If they don't it indicates that they are not so very much convinced that the goods they are selling are really authentic.
2. Quality: If the web site claims that the products being sold are of the best quality, or something along these lines, something is wrong. If they are selling authentic goods, then the quality is constant and is equal to the quality offered by each competitor. If they talk about offering good quality, they are really saying that they have good quality fakes.
3. Chinese connections: Companies based in China are almost always selling fakes. To find out where a company is based, go to http://whois.sc and enter the domain name. You will normally see who registered this domain. If this is an address in China, stay away. The domain information will also include the IP address. Click on this IP address and see it's information. You will, amongst other things, get a location. If the location is in China, stay away.
4. Louis Vuitton: If a web site is selling Louis Vuitton goods, this is usually a very bad sign. The only web sites that sell authentic Louis Vuitton goods are eluxury.com and vuitton.com. Other web sites may have a limited choice available in limited qualities, but even that is exceptional. Some people do sell authentic Louis Vuitton on eBay. These sellers will usually be a member of MyPoupette. Look for the MyPoupette logo before buying Louis Vuitton from eBay.
5. Contact: A trust worthy web site will list a street address. If a web site does not list a street address or phone number, stay away.
6. Return policy: Stay away from web sites that will not take returns.
There is no simply formula that will determine whether a web site sells authentic designer handbags. You always have to use your own judgment. But the above rules should help you make this judgment with better confidence.
Henk Devos is the founder of Genuine Designer Bags, a great source for authentic handbags by Fendi, Gucci, JP Tod's, Marc Jacobs and more.
Much to the dismay of exclusive designers of high priced fashion accessories, the knock off handbag industry is really starting to come of age. Whether you call them fakes, knock offs, designer replicas, or "designer inspired" products, they are big business. The number of manufacturers of fake handbags has absolutely exploded in the past year, and it seems no one is safe, with replica versions of Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, Burberry, Chanel, Kate Spade, Coach and just about every big name designer you could name being readily available for purchase.
But are they really a threat to the big design houses? The big design houses would certainly have us believe so, claiming that the fake merchants deprive them of profit, feed off their marketing, and damage their reputations by selling inferior quality handbags and purses which confused consumers think is the real thing. Some even claim that by supporting the knock off industry, consumers are helping to support organized crime. Successful raids and prosecutions of party plan vendors, street and flea market vendors, and online merchants have become a regular event, but this seems to be doing little to stem the tide.
The reasons why designer fakes have become so popular is obvious. Glamorous marketing makes the product desirable, and inhibitive pricing makes it more so. What could be more desirable than something other people can't have? But of course, inhibitive pricing means there are a lot of people who want the merchandise, but can't afford it, which is where the designer replica merchants step in.
The key to avoiding prosecution for knock off merchants is the degree of similarity of their designs to the high priced originals. If the handbag is identical to a Louis Vuitton original, particularly if the logo is used on the handbag or in the advertising material, the makers and sellers are in breach of copyright. But an increasing number of clever designer replica manufacturers are producing handbags which have a very similar look and feel to a Louis Vuitton or a Kate Spade, but without being a close enough copy to warrant a prosecution. What's more, the quality of the products is virtually the same as the originals. At a hundred and twenty dollars or so, rather than a thousand or more, consumers are finding them irresistible.

There are many, many designer handbags available to own these days.
So what is it that makes one more famous or more popular than the other? What factor above all else determines whether or not a range is going to be a winner or a huge flop?
Well, design quality certainly has to play a big part in it.
I mean, who's going to buy a bag that looks as though it's about to fall to pieces? Worse still, what if it looks as though it has fallen to pieces as it sits on display in your local store?
How will you be able to keep a straight face as the suitably reverent sales assistant dons her white cotton gloves before handling the bag as though it were the winning lottery ticket -- (rare and highly valuable and more than likely to explode in your face than actually be real!)
Beyond the point of many handbag lovers thinking that a Hobo style bag meant it should look as though it's suitable only for a hobo to carry, build quality has to be good and durable to add credit to the designers name and assure the buyer that they are getting real value for their hard earned dollars.
The looks of the designer handbag also need to be right.
With the huge number of different people looking to buy a designer handbag, there is always going to be a huge difference in opinions as to what looks good and what doesn't.
What others like as a design or style, you might think has been dragged backwards through the proverbial hedge - having already been rejected by a pop art museum!
But it's this subjective link that gives each designer their strength! Their unique style and imagination can inspire people to pay a deposit to reserve the latest creation before they've even seen a picture of it.
Lovers of a specific designer label can spend hours and days trying to track down each bag released under a specific design, range or label even.
Take the Louis Vuitton Cherry Blossom range as an example.
Created by Takashi Murakami in conjunction with Marc Jacobs of LV, this range consisted of a retro handbag, a papillon and a pochette. Lovers of LV or Murakami would collect the "set". As the Cherry Blossom range came in three color combos -- chocolate/pink, red/cream, pink/pink -- people would also look to buy each color set as well.
The power of the design, coupled with the appeal of the name, encouraged them to buy!
If it's a really 'top notch' name like Hermes or Versace then you need to add your name to a wait list. This list can stretch to more than two years for certain bags.
Everybody ranks the different designers according to their budget -- assigning in their mind a scale to attain. The same as everyone looks to upgrade their home or car, designer handbag lovers always aspire to move into the next bracket of handbag.
But I think that the biggest means by which designer name handbags prosper and grow or fade away with a whimper is down to good old communication.
Work with me for a minute!
How many bags do you own?
Of those, how many are from the same house?
Now then -- of those from the same designer, the same design house label, how many did you buy after someone else had spoken to you about it?
It can be anything from a simple comment that someone dropped in a conversation, to a friend specifically emailing you to tell you about the super dooper new XXX from the house of XXXX!
Now work backwards.
How many handbags do you own that you wouldn't have bought unless someone communicated about it to you?
1? 5? 10?
That communication has helped the designer sell more of his handbags than he would have normally, which in turn helps to build up his reputation and the strength of his name!
Design houses can (and often do!) throw as much money as they like into their advertising and marketing campaigns. The latest rake thin super model graces pages and posters, clutching the latest Hackyunaki hobenger bag to their bosom and beaming insanely!
"I'm beautiful only because I hold a Hackyunaki bag" they seem to say to you.
But if the people who buy and use their products don't talk about them in glowing terms, if they don't love them SOOOO much that they have to tell all their friends abut them, they'll never become a success in the world of designer handbags.
So the answer to the riddle of what makes a particular designer handbag a success is -- you!
You make designer name handbags popular and a success as much as you have the power to make them a failure, never to waste store space again!
Just by loving them and talking about them!

Which Type of Handbag Suits Your Body Type?
by: Cathy Feldman
Over the past year, handbags have quickly become the most popular accessory on the market. There are thousands of styles and designs to choose from, which makes it difficult to find the perfect handbag. Many women are unsure of which types of handbags work best with the shape of their bodies and end up choosing styles which make them look large or out of proportion. In order to help you choose the right type of purse for your body type we have compiled a list of body types as well as which kind of handbag is best suited for each type.
Choose the category which best reflects your body type:
Tall and Thin
If you are long and lean, you will be able to get away with almost any form of handbag. Clutches, oversized handbags and shoulder bags will suit you fantastically, but the size of the bag needs to be considered. Oversized, large bags are going to look best on you, whereas smaller ones are going to make you look even taller than you already are. If you want to purchase a smaller handbag, make sure it fits snugly under your shoulders.
Short and Plump
Shorter girls need to pay very careful attention to the types of handbags they choose. Smaller bags tend to look best since larger ones will overpower you and make you look even shorter. Shorter purses (especially those which fit tightly against your body) will create height and make you look taller than you really are.
Curvy
If you’re lucky enough to have an hourglass figure you will want to accentuate your waistline. In order to do this, you will need to find a bag which hits just above the waist. This style and length is going to be most flattering. Medium sized bags work best to enhance your already gorgeous body type.
Plus Size
If you’re plus size you will definitely want to stay away from small bags, which tend to make you look bigger than you are. Bags with short straps should also be avoided. Try a style which is larger and slightly wider than normal sizes since they will make you appear smaller.
The type of handbag you choose will not only depend on your body type, but also on the outfit you’re wearing and what you are doing. Choose your handbags according to how you feel that day and what you think looks best on you. One handbag is never enough, so make sure you have a number to choose from. You wouldn’t wear the same pair of shoes everyday, so why carry the same handbag?

What Makes Leather Handbags So Special?
By Chris Rodriguez
A leather handbag is the ideal type of handbag for the woman on the go who doesn't like to change handbags often. Leather is a very strong and durable material able to withstand regular wear and tear and still look good. What makes leather handbags so popular though is their unique natural beauty. With genuine leather animal hides you can create some very unusual and stylish handbags.
Handbags made with leather each have their own individual characteristics, as no two pieces of leather are alike. There are many different kinds of leather purses as well. Some designers prefer to use lambskin leather for its very soft, and supple feel and excellent look, whereas others may choose to work with cowhide or pigskin leather which possess tougher, more durable properties. As awful as pigskin may sound, it actually makes for a very soft and nice looking leather.
When shopping for a leather bag you don't necessarily think about what kind of leather it is, just as long as it's leather. Whatever type of leather the handbag is made with, you know you are getting quality material. For this very reason, leather purses usually cost more than any other material, but just remember that it's also going to last longer than any other handbag.
Leather purses can range in price from very reasonable to very expensive. It all depends on the handbag designer and the quality of the leather. Remember though, that when you purchase a leather bag it's going to last you a long time. So the extra expense is well worth it!

The iPod has become a cultural phenomenon. Not since the original Nintendo gaming system has the general public gone so utterly mad over a high-tech consumer gadget. You see them everywhere you go.....on the subway.....in the schoolyard.....on the runway. That's right, my friends. High end fashion design houses like Louis Vuitton and Gucci have launched a line of iPod cases that are sure to please even the most jaded fashionista.
It should come as little surprise that somebody is designing stylish cases for the most stylish gadget ever created. There are countless iPod cases available on the market, most of which are tacky or ugly or made from yucky rubber-like materials. Frankly, I couldn't be happier that people with a real understanding of design and fashion are giving fashion-conscious consumers some stylish options.
These cases are fashion must-haves for this year. My personal favorite is designed by Paul Smith. It's called the Swirl. It reminds me of those psychedelic designs of the late 60's or early 70's. Think Mod. The multicolored strips accent the smooth texture leather very nicely, and it has a very snug fit. It is designed for the iPod mini, but it will accommodate both the 4 and 6 Gig models. I love it!
I am also quite keen on the Gucci cases. They are constructed from the classic Gucci monogrammed material, available in beige/ebony with dark brown leather trim. It also comes with a silver Gucci emblem on the front, and a nice carrying strap. The only drawback I see with these cases is the price. At close to $200 USF, these cases cost almost as much as the iPod itself! I will admit, though, that these cases are slick!
For those not interested in spending so much money on a case, Apple has quite a few reasonably priced cases on their website. There is a company called Incase that has a wonderful line of cases for your iPod. They are oh-so-stylish. They look like designer cases, without the designer price. I have a brown and pink leather one on order. It has a wonderful argyle pattern on it, and we all love argyle.....don't we? I can hardly wait for mine to arrive! Which one do you have?

Savvy Shopping for Replica Handbags
First of all, we all know handbags are big business. The leading designers like Prada, Gucci, Coach, Burberry, Dooney and Bourke all command huge investments when you purchase one of their purses, often in the thousands of dollars. So, it is no big surprise then that replica handbags, often called "knock-offs," are just as big a business.
If you're looking for the real deal for a steal, be aware that in order to actually get the authentic designer item you will have to most likely fork over the big bucks, regardless of that tip your friend gave you for a little shop where you can get the same thing for hundreds less. Not likely, say most experts. In fact, top designers make it rather common knowledge how you can spot the real product. And they say, you will not find a real Gucci through a street vendor, regardless of what he or she is advertising.
How do you tell the difference? Experts say there are all kinds of clues that will alert you to a fake. There is exact match of fabric and material, the way labels and decorations are attached to the bag, even what type of thread and stitches have been used. Tips such as these are just as handy when you are shopping for a replica and trying not to be duped into spending more than you must. Handbag counterfeiters try their hardest to lead you to believe that the bag you just picked up is a real Prada, and that you can have it for an attractive percentage less than the real thing just because that's the last one they have in stock.
When you are shopping for a replica, shop with a vendor who advertises top quality replicas up front. A reputable retailer will be honest about their products, and their prices should reflect drastic differences between the authentic designer purses. Also, shop with a business that comes recommended from a friend or colleague. Shopping over the internet, sight unseen, experts warn, puts you at risk for being ripped off. Make sure the online retailer has drastic differences in prices from the originals. They should be honest that they are in fact selling replicas and not hinting that the handbags are originals with deep discounts. Most many consumers, quality replicas are a fine replacement for the original.
A fashion critic and marketing degree make Nick Martilik a perfect combination as the marketing manager at AAA Replica Handbags.
